Step back in time on the SS Pangea for a titanic evening of vintage cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and shark art at BoxJelly and fishcake in Kaka’ako.

Arrive in your vintage finery through the portals of fishcake decked out as the SS Pangea, a luxury ocean liner of a bygone era. “Sharks & Ships: A benefit gala for our finned friends” supports the efforts of PangeaSeed and promises to be an evening of contrasts. We are reminded that we all go down with the ship if the ocean ecosystems become unbalanced.
First enjoy a blissful evening of cocktails and lavish hors d'oeuvres inspired by the RMS Titanic's last menu imaginatively dished up by Peace Cafe. Sample bitters by Hawaii Bitters Co., attend a whisky tasting presided over by whisky aficionado Rex Maximilian in the first class "smoking lounge", and kick it up in steerage for interactive desserts by newly launched CookSpace.
Visit the new pop-ups and squatters-in-residence at fishcake that include Andy South, Na Mea Native Books & Things, P55dle, Hound & Quail, Vintage Rose, Ningyou Studio, Unleash Studio, Organik and a preview of M33Ms designs by em. Send home a vintage postcard from the SS Pangea typed by Universal Babel Service and enjoy the gallery show "Eclectica" by Hilo printmakers.
Then "abandon ship" into BoxJelly's underwater ocean world of music, films and guest speakers where the heart of the gala night, PangeaSeed's traveling gallery of shark art, Shark Love Inc., is making its final stop in Honolulu after a six city tour of noted galleries down the West coast. Dave Kinsey, Greg "Craola" Simkins, Scott Hove and Kozyndan are just a few of the 40 supporting artists from around the globe in this PowWow 2013 showing in Honolulu. If you haven't experienced it yet, this is your chance to swim with the sharks and learn about their plight and ultimately ours.
The party flows on at BoxJelly until 10pm with DJ music by jim-BROWSKEE. All aboard!

BoxJelly, fishcake and PangeaSeed
BoxJelly and fishcake are happy to jointly sponsor this evening for PangeaSeed.
PangeaSeed is an international organization dedicated to raising public awareness and education surrounding the conservation and preservation of sharks and other marine species in peril. Through volunteer activism, research and the various mediums of art, design, film and photography, PangeaSeed aims to create a sea change within the global community and develop an understanding of one of the world's most important and misunderstood animals in a positive light. Over 70 million sharks are killed each year to satisfy the unsustainable appetite for shark fin soup. If sharks disappear from our oceans, it is only a matter of time that the entire ocean ecosystem will collapse and with it mankind. As apex predator at the top of the food chain, they play a vital role in maintaining the delicate balance in the ocean.
By inviting the general public to join these unique events, PangeaSeed encourages the viewer to protect what we love and help put an end to the mass depletion of sharks and in turn preserve and protect the world’s oceans, and our planet. www.pangeaseed.org
